An exceptional cradle

Currently, Cismeira has a wine estate with more than 40 hectares of vineyards, located in the heart of the Douro, in S. João da Pesqueira, in a state of total mechanization, which favours the treatment and development of the vines.

Most of the vineyards are planted on terraces due to the terrain's orography, ensuring better soil conservation and erosion control.

The several vineyard plots are all located in the municipality of S. João da Pesqueira, the heart of the Cima Corgo sub-region.

Thanks to the predecessors who shaped the land, these vineyards give rise to DOC Douro wines made with the region's typical red grape varieties such as Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz or Tinta Barroca in the reds; and Viosinho, Gouveio, Códega do Larinho, Verdelho and Arinto in the whites.
